Nike N7- EMPOWERING Multiculturalism & Native Americans

I am over the moon happy that I was able to acknowledge my Native American heritage while collaborating with Nike as a model for their N7 campaign.

Here's why this photo shoot is WAY INSPIRED and far from ordinary-

If you didn't already know the Nike N7 fund gives back to Native American youth- helping to give them the opportunity to have an active, healthy lifestyle.

The entire campaign is supposed to be as authentic and empowering to Native American culture as possible.

From the design team to the makeup artists on set, everyone had a little bit of brown in them- and that created an energy that was both unique and freeing.

If you look at the pictures from the campaign what jumps out are the bright colors, authentic symbols, and cultured accessories. But, there is so much more detail to it than that. An entire story is being told.

For the shoot, WE, the multicultural models were given a remote control clicker that was attached to a film camera. Every time WE would push the button the camera would take a picture. This gave US the power to be both photographer and model, telling our story on our own. The power was handed to me, putting me in control of this photo shoot, which was so different than any other set I had worked on before.

As each model walked onto the set they were handed the controller to the camera- giving each of us the ability to be as raw and authentic as we wanted. It was shot on our time, when we felt ready.

Xoxo, A.
